Run your fingers through my memories
when they are not mine to keep.
Just plant kisses where my fears would be
when I cannot sleep.

These nightmares in my head
are dragging me down,
will you be there
to save me before I drown?

I was a girl who believed in angels,
but they were always out of reach.
I would never have believed
that you would breach
these thoughts when all I had to do
was call for you
(call for you).

Run your fingers through my memories
when they are not mine to keep.
Stay through the night
(with me in your arms)
for I cannot sleep.
uh. kind of have been working on this poem for three days now? kinda. the first stanza was a part of the poem i submitted the other day and ive just gone from there a bit yesterday and mostly today. im not sure if i like this poem either tbh but ah. i like rhyming. and mentioning angels finally in a work of mine since ive been reading too many books lately w angels and demons

This is beautiful! I love all of these lines (the way some of them are written remind me of song lyric formatting).

"Run your fingers through my memories
when they are not mine to keep."
-- this feels dreamlike, like memories are thoughts floating like in through the water or smoke/couds on the air

"I would never have believed
that you would breach
these thoughts when all I had to do
was call for you
(call for you)."
-- I'm not great at poetry/poetry terms, but I love the way this is sentence is broken up and paced in the stanza.
